s a Japanese fantasy movie about life after
death, in that you can live forever in the moment of the h
appiest moment of your life. In the
movie, someone said he wants to go back to the moment of his first
flight after he became a
pilot, and someone said the marriage with his wife was the happie
st memory. If you could
choose a day or a time in your life that you want to re
-live, when would it be? I asked some of
Tidings reporters and here

If I could go back to the past, I would want to go back to
the Christmas when I was seven.
When I was young, I used to decorate the Christmas tree with
my family. The year I was seven,
while decorating the tree, my sister and I sang carols, and M
om and Dad were happy. Looking
at the bright lights before going to bed, I was thinking about wh
at kind of Christmas gifts would
be given to me. I can remember that I woke up earlier than
anyone else to open a present and
thought that there really is a Santa. Now, I cannot affo
rd to enjoy Christmas because my
family and I are busy. But we remember the feeling that e
veryone was happy.

If I could go back to the past, I think I would choose to be
an elementary school student again.
Back then, I used to play in the playgrounds with my friend
s almost every day, usually riding
swings and playing our childish game called
‘
The Escape
’
. I had so much fun that a smile still
spreads across my face whenever I reminiscence about those days.

After Life
’
and I could re-live only one day in my life, I would choos
e
a day I spent in Lombok during a school trip. Blue-green moonlight
shone under the sea as I felt
weightless with only a gentle touch of gravity pulling down on
me. Later, staring at the moon
and the stars at the top of the boat, I found myself liste
ning to diving instructors chit-chatting
and humming in a language I only knew few words of. These mome
nts are what I choose to re-
live for the last time before I vanish to
‘
whatever state about existence lies beyond.
’

If it were possible to go back to the past, I would definitel
y choose to go back to last year when
I just got into university. Everything was so new to me back the
n and it year when I just got into
university. Everything was so new to me back then and it was fun t
o experience all the new
things. Escaping from the academic pressure, I could drink all ni
ght and get drunk with my
friends and I was so excited to get to know and get along with
different people. It actually
helped me widen my own world as well. It is still fun to
hand out with my friends and to do all
the things I have done so far but still, I will never be able to fo
rget the feelings when I
experienced things for the very first time since I have become
an adult. I appreciate every
moment of the days and I wish could experience the feelings
all over again.
