Last Greeting for Hongik Tidings

It's already late November. The end of the year is coming to us. How was your year? The reporters of Hongik Tidings have worked hard to deliver various articles of good quality to readers.

The time to leave Tidings, where I have worked for three years, has come for me. Remembering the first time I carefully knocked on the door of the Tidings office, I was happy to re-read my first article as a reporter. Here I become the editor-in-chief, leading meetings with reporters, designers, and photographers for every issue. That was touching and it pleased me.

I've been working here for three years and I gave up lots of things during that time. During the vacations, I couldn't go freely on a trip whenever I wanted because of meetings for the next issue. Furthermore, I had to write articles during the midterm exams. Especially this year, even while having several personal difficulties, I was sometimes burdened to do my duty as editor-in-chief. It's also true that I felt pressured because I thought the chief editor has responsibility for everything.

But that responsibility was a pleasant burden. Representing the Hongik University English magazine was an experience that could not be easily done just anywhere. Tidings made me meet lots of friends from various departments and also accumulate knowledge of things I didn't know or hadn¡¯t been interested in before. Writing articles, I felt cultured by doing research for more accurate information, and as an editor, I could slowly change my introverted personality through conversations with other reporters.

I would like to thank my colleagues. First, the 34th issue reporters Jun-young, Chul-joo, and Jiwon. They joined Tidings at the same time as me. I don't know if they are reading Tidings since they're all in the military now, but I hope they'll lead Tidings well as seniors when returning to school. And my seniors Dayoung, Bugeun, and Jiwon! Thanks for being the buttress of the Tiding's support. My juniors Aruem, Suyeon, Minkyung, Hyejin, Jumi, Junhwan, and Jiwon also gave me great help. I've spent the most time with them. No doubt they will continue to do their role successfully until the end of their terms in Tidings! Particularly, I would like to thank Aruem for taking good care of the budget for Tidings as an assistant editor and I believe that you¡¯ll do a great job as the next editor-in-chief. Finally, our new members: Suji, Taehwi, Hyebeen and Jungyoon! Become closer to each other and lead future new recruits well as an upperclassman next year. Thank you all.

Hongik Tidings took care of three-quarters of my college life. Tidings makes me feel so proud of being a college student. Please keep an eye on Tidings, readers.
