Games in the past

When the darkness takes over, we tend to walk through a forest of thoughts. As ourjourney continues, it is easy for us to sink in nostalgic memories that we all miss. Today, the Hongik Tidings would like to discuss about those things that made us stay up all nightin front of the monitor without noticing the time drifting away, classic internet games. TheHongik Tidings reporters all gathered up to share classic games that fascinated each oneof us when we were young.

When I was primary schoolstudent, most of the small stationery stores sold interestingthings. When school was over, many students dropped by there and bought several toys.Among those toys, my favorite one was ¡°Frog Eggs¡±, that looked like tiny beads. Whenthey were put into water, they became bigger and softer. The texture made me feel good. So, I frequently filled water in a basket and raised them even though they were not realeggs that changed into tadpoles. This was fun to play for me and my friends who did notlike computergames. We played with them by sharing and exchanging. These days, it ishard to find small stationery stores and its products. I sometimes miss the memory when Iwent shopping with my 3000 won allowance.

When I was a little kid, I used to play lots of computer games via Yahoo Kooreogi orJunior Naver. My favourite flash game of all time is "Invulnerable Lee Soonsin". It is agame fighting against the Japanese army. I think it was the anxiety I felt during the gamethat really got me, since allthe processes had to be restarted once the character wasdead.

I remember I used to play Q-play back when I was a kid. When logging in, I was redirectedto a lobby where you can see all the different kinds of games you can play at the moment. The games were mainly quiz or puzzle games that many players can play all at once. Each player also had a cute avatar. I especially loved to play OX quiz. It was basic but sofun that I would spend hours playing it.It ended its service in 2015 as far as Iknow. Although there are many other similar games online, they are not exactly the same. It¡¯s kind of sad and I miss it.

Even as a child, I was never a gamer. I was an impatient kid, who could never sit in thesame chair for hours playing thesame game over and over again. However, there wasthis one flash game that intrigued me so bad. Shoo¡¯s Ramengage. The rules were simple.Hit the sales target. The funny thing is, it was just too hard to do. None of my friends everpassed the first level, and this got me so obsessed, to be the first person (among myfriends) to achieve this. So did I achieve it? Nope. It took a whole year to accept that I hadzero talent in games in general.

Let's bring back memories of more than ten years ago. Iused to play Kartrider when I wasyoung. I was terrible at playing games so I didn't win at all. But I enjoyed it regardless ofwinning and losing because my uncle often gave me useful game items that I couldn'tafford to buy. Soon I quit playing games because my parents wanted me to. Since then Idon't play games much.
