Did you know that our school has three more campuses except the one in Seoul? Actually our school is separated as four campuses: Seoul, Sejong, Daehakro, and Hwaseong campuses. Among these three campuses, I will introduce you the Daehakro campus which is located in the center of art and famous for the newly built facilities.

To start with, I think it will be great to know the similarities and differences between two different campuses: Seoul campus and Daehakro campus. As you all know, the Hongik University is known for university of art and design. I can confidently say that the art education our university offers is pretty high-class, and actually Seoul campus of Hongik university puts a lot of efforts to foster decent art students. Similar to our campus, Daehakro campus is also pursuing raising potential art students through the following undergraduate courses: Industrial Art, Film Design, and Commercial and Advertisement.

After I actually visited the Daehakro campus, I could find various differences also. Unlike Seoul Campus, the newly built building catches your eyes as you walk in. When I walked in, I was pretty shocked as I found familiar brands like Oliveyoung, Starbucks, and Popeyes in the building. The biggest difference I found there was that Daehakro campus is more like undergraduate school, not a university. I visited all the floors in the campus and I realized that the school is not only used for students, but also for business. Only 1st to 10th floors (except 2nd floor) were used for students, and the other floors above were used as rent for companies. I found studios, shopping malls, and actual office at 11th and 13th floor, and these make me feel distant to consider Daehakro campus as a school like Seoul campus.

Based on what I found and felt in Daehakro campus, I picked some questions which might help to satisfy your curiosity,

1. How do we get there?

- It’s really easy. If you take bus number 273 in front of ParisBaguette which is located in front of R building and get off at jongno 5-ga, Hyoje-dong, place of patriotic deed, KimSangOk. After you get off the bus, you will find the campus with 5 minutes of walking

2. Does Daehakro campus also have Eternal Smile?

- No, Daehakro campus doesn’t have Eternal Smile in the campus. Instead of Eternal Smile, a statue of a standing person.

3. Does the campus organize the buildings in Alphabetic order like Seoul campus does?

- No, since Daehakro campus is divided by only two building, they didn’t use the alphabetic order. They just classified the real campus and Art Center.

4. Does the campus have same type of chairs like those in the Seoul campus?

-No, in Daehakro campus, students can listen to lecture with sitting in chair which is separated from table. It’s not same one.

5. Does the campus offer courses for students for the Seoul campus?

-Yes, they are opening classes for students who are majoring in “Convergence Major”, and also some courses offering valid credits.

6. Do they use unmanned security system like the Seoul Campus?

-Based on what I found, it seems like they are also using the the unmanned security system.
