In March, every school is full of energy as new students, freshmen, enter University. This March Hongik Tidings is excited as we will also have new reporters. I am sure Hongik people greet all our freshmen warmly and hope they have a great year. In this aspect, I think March is very meaningful and an energetic month. Moreover, it is the beginning of spring, a warm season most living things like. Looking back, every March was a new start and a sweet memory for me. My heart was always pounding when March visited me. New friends, getting older, anticipating upcoming new experiences I would have… Everything was so exciting. I hope this March also lifts my life up.

This March edition is very special. We at Hongik Tidings, made a slight change in its contents. In some ways, we always pursue novelty to develop our magazine. Up until now, our magazine consisted of various topics which were regarded as important themes at that time. From now on, we will set up a keyword for each edition. This March edition’s keyword is “LUCK”. There is no criteria for choosing the keyword. Like art exhibitions, we just pick up a keyword that has various meanings or expresses several ideas. We hope readers enjoy our keyword and try to understand what we want to say. Our next edition, and coming editions will have a keyword and we will do our best to express the keyword in several sections. Of course, not all of the sections will be related to the keyword. Some articles will be excluded from the keyword to deal with important topics. To avoid confusion, we mark the article’ titles on the content page and attach signs in the articles.

Since our keyword is luck, we actively discussed the word luck during our winter break. Luck has many aspects. Each member of Hongik Tidings interprets this word differently. Some people regard luck as just luck, which means it is just a simple phenomenon that people don’t have to cling to. Other people think luck is important and sometimes it decides one’s life. We also saw luck as a part of study. There are no answers in defining luck. Therefore, we looked at luck from various angles. You will find much luck in the articles in the Society, Art, and Trend sections.

Anyway, people want to get lucky in many situations. When people have difficulty in doing something, they wish luck will visit them. When someone suffers from an unfortunate circumstance, they blame bad luck, wondering why it doesn’t circumvent him or her from this situation. Likewise, luck is around people all the time. Whatever its shape, it is a part of one’s life, making one laugh or cry. As having luck is luck, we can’t choose the shape of the luck. But people can say good luck to each other, saying “Wish You Good Luck!!” For you, I also keep my fingers crossed. Have a nice year!!
