I want to live in a detached house rather than an apartment. I lived in a detached house for about four years when I was young, and I have many good memories of it. So, I want to build a detached house with a garden and live there. And, I hope the living room is big. I like to spend time with my family, so I prefer one large living room to separate rooms for everyone. And, I hope it's a duplex type. This is because there are many different spaces to decorate in a duplex type.

I’ve always wanted to live in a split-level apartment in a big city since I was a kid. Growing up watching American films set in big cities such as New York, the type of my dream house became an apartment, not a detached house. To describe the internal structure of my dream house, the bedroom and the study are located on the second floor while all the other rooms, including kitchen, are on the first floor. The reason for this division is that I prefer to spend time only by myself, and not be disturbed by other people. It would be perfect to have a soundproof room, as one of my hobbies is playing the piano.

When I got this question, the first thing that came to my mind was that my dream house should be eco-friendly. Since I was young, I have seen many videos of nature being damaged, so I became aware of it. Also, being friendly with the environment has become a trend because climate change is becoming worse as the years go by. I want a house powered by renewable energy, such as solar energy. Moreover, it should use energy as efficiently as possible. Another thing that my dream house should have is a garden. I have always wanted a garden or a yard filled with trees where I could relax and have time to take a nap.

My dream house is hard to define in a single word. But there are some things I would like to be in my future house. First, I want my house to be located by a forest, with lots of trees, and I would like to have a big window as high as the house so that I could see and feel the forest without any obstructions from inside the house. Second, I want to have an indoor swimming pool in my house. It would be really nice if I could swim regardless of the time, weather, or season. My dream house doesn’t have to be filled with every fancy thing, but it should have everything that I love and enjoy. In that place, I could completely relax and have a fulfilled life.

I really want to live in a house where I can concentrate on my hobbies. In particular, I want all the spaces for each hobby to be separated. It is fine to spend time with my family members, but I would rather spend all of my time doing things that I love. So, I want my house to be divided into several rooms, even though each room is not that big. To meet these conditions, a detached house would be more suitable than an apartment.
Also, I will decorate my house where I can always be immersed in my mood. I have a lot of ups and downs, and I think all the feelings I feel are precious to me. So, I hope the space of my home would be a place where I could maximize these feelings and inspire myself more. There might be days when I want to make cocktails and enjoy them alone quietly, or days when I want to invite people over to my house and have a party. Therefore, I think I will need devices to completely change the atmosphere of the house. I will decorate my house with various lights, candles, and music players to make my house an abundant space.

I often dream of designing my own house whenever I find a space or a part of a building that catches my eye. So, my close friends tell me if my future house were to be a combination of all those little points that I mentioned, my house would look quite haunted. I do not deny that, because, just to mention a fraction of my dream house, I would like willow trees in my garden, an uneven roof shape consisting of triangles and rectangles, and a huge empty space in the middle in stark contrast with the rest that is botanically decorated and has antiques. And, I long to have an exercise and meditation room for my physical and mental health.

I always dream of having my own house in my thirties. I want to build a three-storied building in a suburb. It would have a garage for my car and a front yard for a dining area. It would also have five rooms, two bathrooms, and an attic. The first floor would consist of a kitchen and a living room. The second floor would have a guest room, a hobby room, and a room for my cats. The third floor would be only for me. There would be a bedroom, a walk-in closet, and a library. I would want to make a big kitchen so that I could cook conveniently, store a lot of ingredients, and gather various kinds of plates for decoration. I want to live in a house which is located in a quiet and peaceful place, but near Seoul so I could go to work without a problem.

There have been so many dream houses that I have wanted in my life. During high school, I watched many videos that described houses that people built themselves. At that time, I wanted to have a house that I built. My self-built house should be located in a forest. With big trees as a fence, I would plant some flowers underneath them – just field flowers, any kind. I would definitely live with a dog or maybe a cat. A tree house for myself, a bunker full of food, slides from the 2nd floor. Just thinking about it gives me an image of Little House on the Prairie. It would be a little hard to get to the city, but I would be happy to live in that house.
